Gegründet 1984 verband die Band schon immer anarchistische Positionen mit Pop-Musik.
1997 gelang ihnen mit Tubthumping ihr erster und einziger internationaler No.1 Hit, das Lied gehört zu den unpolitischsten Liedern der Band.
