Catharsis war eine anarchistische Hardcore Punk Band aus Greensboro, North Carolina, die bis 2002 existierte. Catharsis sah sich eher als revolutionäre Bewegung als eine Ansammlung von Musikern, in ihrer Musik drückten sie ihre Gefühle gegenüber der Welt aus. Der Sänger Brian war Autor der politischen Hardcore Punk Zeitschrift Inside Front und gründete später mit anderen ehemaligen Bandmitgliedern Requiem.
